In stillness we can hear the most clearly.
Open Space Counseling provides a judgement free, safe, brave and honest space for individuals and couples to hear their truth through the noise of everyday life. My goal is that through therapy, my clients find a sense of healing and develop a deeper and more authentic connection with themselves and others. I honor the bravery it takes to explore our inner world and past experiences in an honest and vulnerable way and promise to create a safe space for this to happen at Open Space Counseling.
My Background and Therapeutic Approach
My name is Shayna Wade and welcome to Open Space Counseling. In therapy, my goal is to support people in finding their own truth, heal from trauma/grief, learn about their own mental health and find ways to live a life that promotes wellness and living in alignment with our values and true selves. My hope is therapy ultimately supports people in accepting all parts of themselves and allows them to live a life they are proud of and to feel more connected to themselves and those around them. I have extensive experience working with adults and couples. My areas of specialty are Depression/Anxiety, Trauma, Grief, Infertility/Loss, Addiction/Alcoholism and Recovery, and Healthy Attachment/Relationships. I am a certified EMDR practitioner and trained in the S.A.F.E. modality of EMDR at the Personal Transformation Institute.
I have been a therapist for 10+ years and have worked in private practice, community mental health, residential substance abuse and school based settings. I have worked as a therapist and lived all over the country and I am grateful to live in Western North Carolina in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains that I now call home. I am a dual-licensed Mental Health and Addictions Counselor in North Carolina. I also am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in Oregon. Currently I am providing individual and couples counseling virtually to residents of North Carolina and Oregon.
